LESSON FOR THE WEEK

WHEN BEING RIGHT WASN’T ENOUGH

(Referenced in my book “Recipe,” a meal to heal your soul.)

There was a time in my life when I believed that being spiritually “right” meant I was walking in truth. I held onto answers I thought were right, defended doctrine regardless of its implications, and tried to fix what I thought was broken in others. But when the Holy Spirit began to whisper, “Dorothy, truth without love is not healing, it’s a trap.”

My soul struggled as I attempted to comprehend the logic behind what I had received from the Holy Spirit. I felt guilty, but I didn’t know why. I was right, they were wrong. Through prayer and painful honesty, I learned that being right wouldn’t mend what I was experiencing. It took the Grace of God and His love to deliver me. It happened when I laid down my self-righteousness and let Christ replace it with a compassionate heart. That didn’t make me feel weaker; it helped me to overcome my misuse of God's mercy. It taught me how and why I must live my life through a forgiving heart.

Now, I welcome questions not as threats, but as sacred invitations. My blog is a space for seekers, doubters, and believers. Whosoever will is welcome. Healing begins with a humble spirit that strives to get an understanding.

MY PRAYER FOR SEEKERS

Oh, merciful Father,

I thank you that I can still offer to someone else what you have given me.

Strengthen all who are seeking to please you and do your will.

May the light of Heaven shine down on them continually as they magnify your

Grace and mercy to others.

We praise you and love you with all that we are in Christ Jesus.

Empower us to be a blessing each day, I pray.

Amen
